William Lionel Shropshire Jr.

Deacon William Lionel Shropshire Jr. age 64 of Clarksville, passed away on Thursday August 13, 2020 at his residence. He was born May 21, 1956 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of the late William L. Shropshire Sr. and Hattie Beatrice Elder Shropshire of Grand Rapids, MI. While living in Michigan, William had been a welder with Steel Case Company. Later, while living in Tennessee, he worked in supervision with Skyline Medical Center. William has been a licensed ordained deacon for over 15 years. He is associated with Jesus Reigns Fellowship in White House, TN and Spiro First Baptist Church in Spiro, OK. He is currently on the Deans List at Trevecca Nazarene College, majoring in Christian Ministry. He is the co-founder of W.O.M.B. Ministries (Women Overcoming Many Battles and When Our Men Believe) a 501C3 nonprofit organization. He also served faithfully for over 10 years with the Middle Tennessee, Music City, and Arkansas Tres Dias organizations. In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his wife Emily Chatman Shropshire of Clarksville; sons William Germaine Jackson of Grand Rapids, MI; Hakeem Shropshire of Grand Rapids, MI; Romeous Lockridge of Clarksville, TN; daughters La Tasha Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI; Ebony Black of Grand Rapids, MI; Precious Lockridge of Clarksville and Jasmine Lockridge of Hermitage, TN. Also surviving are brothers Larry Shropshire (Sheila), Raymond Shropshire (Kelly), and Thaddeus Shropshire (Patricia). William is also survived by his Mother in Law Margie (Leroy) Williams; Sisters in Law Wanda (Jonathan) Hodges, Ophelia (Walter) Morris and Brother in Law Calvin (Tanya) Chatman. Also surviving are a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services for William will be conducted on Wednesday August 19, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at Gateway Funeral Home.
