William Edward "Bill" Hayes

William Edward "Bill" Hayes (aka RC Cola Man) age 82 of Woodlawn, TN passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017 at Diversicare of Dover. He was born March 29, 1934 in Stewart County, TN the son of the late Ernest Hayes and Sally Ruth Walker. Bill had worked for 36 years as a route driver for RC Cola, retiring in 1996. He is survived by his wife Anna B. "Ann" Cherry Hayes, and two sons, Michael E. Hayes (Susan Frost) of Cumberland Furnace, TN; and Kerry Scott Hayes (Angelia Martin) of Woodlawn. He is also survived by a brother Delmar Hayes (Nelda) of Indian Mound, TN; sisters Betty Wyatt (Glen) of Clarksville; Peggy Hollingsworth (Mike) of Bumpus Mills; Dorothy Rorie of Indian Mound; and Kathy McLean (Harold) of Stewart County; as well as 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step mother, Ida Hayes; brothers Elmer Hayes and Bobby Hayes; and a sister Evelyn Hayes. Memorial Services will be conducted on Thursday March 9, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
