William "New York" Joseph Mayfield Craig, age 63 of Clarksville passed away on Tuesday January 12th, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 6th, 1952 to the Late Jessie and Ruth Hicks Craig. Mr. Craig was a high school graduate and served his country in the U.S. Army for three and half years, where he reached the rank of SP4 and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He married Linda Lucille Kilgore on October 28th, 1972, and was employed by Trane Corporation in Clarksville for 37 and ½ years. He was a member of New Jerusalem Five Fold Ministries.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Craig of Clarksville; two daughters; Stephanie C. Craig and Christinia M. Williams of Clarksville; a sister, Denise Wade (Michael) of St. Albans, NY; two nephews, Keith and Malcolm Wade, as well as one niece, Jasmen Wade. He is also survived four grandchildren, Erykah T., Alexandria S., Cleese M. and Elaysha T. Williams, as well as many godchildren whom he considered his own. In addition, he is survived by three sisters-in-law, Thelma (Horace) Foster of Elkton, KY, Marie Kilgore and Ruby Harris of Clarksville as well as a brother-in-law Lewis Kilgore of Clarksville.
Services will be held from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Maurice E. Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin on Monday, January 18th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family being present at 5:00 p.m.
