Willard Owen ""Buddy O"" Whitehead

Mr. Willard Owen Whitehead, (Buddy O.), age 74, left his earthly home on February 19th, 2015 to be reunited with his parents, Enoch Levi, and Myrtle Sharp Whitehead. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Maggie Lou Rosson, Edith James, Enoch Levi Whitehead, Jr., Claudie Whitehead, Eva Head, Anne Archer, and Jerry Whitehead.

He leaves behind his devoted wife and friend, Martha Hutson Whitehead,; children, Joyce Whitehead, Beverly Harris, DeWayne Whitehead, and devoted son-in-law, Johnny Harris; grandsons, Ronnie Mangrum, Jeremy (Jamie) Hutchison, Austin (Michelle) Harris; great-grandsons, Ronnie Mangrum, Noah Mangrum, Ethan Hutchison; sisters, Mammie Duncan of Hohenwald, TN ; Martha James of Hampshire, TN; friend and sister Clara Whitehead Hyder, and several nieces and nephews.

Buddy O. was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was raised on a farm by Cathey's Creek in Lewis County, and moved to Nashville in the late 1950's to begin working as a painter and carpenter. His love of music and talent allowed him to entertain in several Nashville venues. He will always be remembered for his love of playing the fiddle, banjo picking, playing a guitar and mandolin, and his beautiful singing. His gift of story telling and the joy of making people laugh will be greatly missed.

At his request he will be cremated, and a celebration of life and graveside service will be scheduled for a later date.
