Wayne Elliott Mitchell

Wayne Elliott Mitchell, age 76, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 peacefully at his residence. Wayne was born on September 11, 1944 in Galva, IA to the late Marvin Mitchell and Ruth Noll. Wayne proudly served his country for 4 years in the Marines. He continued out his career in a meat packing plant for 40 years. Wayne was a great outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known as a busy body. He rarely slowed down. Wayne attended the Lutheran Church, "Our Savior", in Denison, IA for many years. Wayne will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Left to cherish Wayne's memory is his wife of 57 years, Rose Mitchell of Woodlawn, TN; son, Troy Lee Mitchell of Des Moines, IA; daughters, Tina Marie Osborne of Sherman, TX, Terri Lynn Maas of Sioux City, IA, Tami Jo Beam of Clarksville, TN; 15 grandchildren, Misty (Kenneth), Tory, Bo, Dakota, Jericho, Ethan, Lane, Kira (Jay), Bethany (Richie), Dani, Ashly, Kori, Jocee, Tiffany ( Donnie) and Margaret. Wayne is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, Mikenna, Amariah, Elijah, Ezra, Elizabeth, Aubree, Shelina, Novie, Novalee, Maison, RJ and Allena.

Along with his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by son, Michael Wayne Mitchell and sister, Beverly Dean. A memorial service for Mr. Mitchell will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Gateway Funeral Home's Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
