Theodore B. "Ted" Hawkins

Theodore B. "Ted" Hawkins age 73 of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville. He was born January 13, 1944 in Memphis where he lived until coming to Clarksville in 2012. He is the son of the late Daniel Webster Hawkins and Lydia Bramlett Hawkins. Ted served his country in the U.S. Army for 4 years during Vietnam. He spent many years employed at the Memphis airport as a ticket counter supervisor with US Airways and prior to that with Pinnacle Airlines. Ted loved to travel, play golf and he lived life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife Cassandra Thomas Hawkins of Clarksville; daughters Keisha Hawkins – Yancy of Memphis, and Tia Moore of Clarksville; a son Terence M. Wilson of Memphis; brothers Garland Hawkins (Joyce) of Memphis; and Michael Hawkins of Memphis and a sister in law Jackie Hawkins of Memphis. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren as well as his father and mother in law James Thomas Sr. & Helen Thomas. Ted will be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers William Hawkins, Daniel Hawkins Jr., Millard Hawkins and a sister Wardna Polk. Memorial services with military honors will be conducted on Saturday February 4, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Chaplain Wayne Hayes of the Thomas Chapel Community Church will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home for the hour prior to services.
