1SG (Ret.) Terry Wayne Ellis

Terry Wayne Ellis, 74, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday August 6, 2023 at Walking Horse Meadows. He was born March 18, 1949 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Jasper and Naomi Stephenson Ellis.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army and he took great pride in his time spent serving in Vietnam. In his free time, Terry enjoyed fishing and watching Western movies. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, William (Tina) Helton, Terry (Tammy) Ellis, Angie (David) Gamble, and Sharon (Todd) Kingston; his siblings, Beverly Ellis Gay, Jasper (Carolyn) Ellis, and Shirley (Terry) Harrow; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jacob) Alvarez, Jessica (Trent) Wooten, Marina (Kat) Head, Bethany Helton, Katelyn Ortiz, Alison Benton, Timmy Beard, Taylor (Tucker) Wilson, Terry III (Alaina) Ellis, Tyler (Leah) Ellis; great-grandchildren, Leah Helton, Freyja Alvarez, Jesslyn Helton, Evalis Helton, Lana Alvarez, Eden Ortiz, Oliver Ortiz, Waylon Benton, Tristen Benton, Ophelia Benton, Kennedy Wilson, Dawson Ellis, and Charleston Ellis.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Upton Ellis; daughter, Teresa Lynn Helton; and son, Garrett Lee Ellis.

Funeral services will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Monday August 14, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Burial will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY.
