SSG (Ret.) William Gaines

SSG (Ret.) William Gaines, age 89 of Clarksville, Tennessee passed away on March 12, 2022 at the Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.  Prior to his death he was a resident of the Tennessee Veterans Home in Clarksville, TN.  William was born September 28, 1932.  William proudly served his Country in U.S. Army 20 years, during which he served a tour of duty in the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam war.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Emma Kendrick Gaines of Clarksville, TN; sons, Michael Gaines (Scott) of Minneapolis, MN and Clifford Gaines of Clarksville, TN.  Brother Sora Gaines (Laura) of Clarksville, TN.  Nephew Rudolph Woodson (Adrianne) of Crown Point, IN.  William is preceded in death by his parents Robert Wesley Gaines and Mable Petus Gaines, daughter, Veronica Gaines, brothers Walter, JW, sisters Flossie and Ella.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 with Pastor Dorian Webster officiating.  There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.
