Samuel L. Martin

Samuel L. Martin age 79, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Thursday September 16, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.  He was born September 20, 1941 at Ft. Oglethorp, GA, the son of the late Sam Martin and Louise Weaver Martin.  Sam is a graduate of Clarksville High School.  He served his country in the US Army.  Over the years he worked at various jobs including owner and operator of Lee’s Auto Salvage in Clarksville.  While living in Florida he operated a food truck.  Most recently he worked in lawn care.  He enjoyed attending the activities of the Senior Citizens Center.  Survivors include his son David Martin and his daughter Patricia Lee Hughart.  Also surviving are sisters Sandra Jean Martin Stacey (Fred) and Angelia Lynn Hayes (Kerry) as well as several grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother William Donald Martin and a sister Regina Darlene Martin.  Following cremation, Sam will be placed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN.  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
