Robert C. Smith III, 83, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Tennova Healthcare. He was born October 29, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Robert (Bob) was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He served in the US Army for 30 years. He was stationed in Mannheim, Germany, Korea, and finished his military career at Ft. Campbell, KY. After retiring, he worked for the Tennessee Dept. of Corrections and Gemtron Corp.
Survivors include his children: Scott Allen (Brittany) Smith Sr., Erik (Abby) Smith, Christine (Chris) Davis; grandchildren, Emilie (Gabriel) St. John, Christopher Davis, Scott Allen Smith Jr., Zakk Mikel Smith, Mikela Layne Smith, Cayden Smith, Emma Smith, Ariel Smith, Taylor Smith; great-grandchild, Lucas Wyatt St. John. In addition to his parents, he was preceded to heaven by his loving wife, Eva Maria Beigitte Smith of 60 years; 2 children, Robert R. Smith and Mikel T. Smith, and his brother, Peter F. Smith.
A service celebrating the life of Robert C. Smith, and honoring his military service will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. , with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY at 1:00 P.M.
