Robert B. Embler age 85 of Clarksville passed away on Friday January 6, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville. He was born April 21, 1931 in Maury County, TN the son of the late Robert Embler and Nona Scott Embler. Robert served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1968 as an E6. He served in Korea and received a purple heart. While in the military he served in the medical corps as a surgical technician. In civilian life he worked over 20 years with Phelps-Dodge Magnet Wire in Hopkinsville. His life was devoted to his work and family. He is a member of the Church of Christ. Robert is survived by his wife Wanda Littleton Embler to whom he was married for 62 years. He is also survived by two sons Robert W. Embler (Diana) of Clarksville and David Ray Embler (Dana) of Chattanooga; a brother James Embler of Huntsville, AL; a sister Louise Bates of Centerville, TN; four grandchildren Megan, David Jr., William, and Rachel, as well as 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Cecil. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no public funeral services.
