Mattie Belle Roberts

Mattie Belle Roberts, age 85, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare. She was born April 14, 1936 in Gray, GA to the late Hugh and Lillie Belle Franks Broadus. Mattie was a hard worker who took pride in her work. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and, most importantly, shopping. Mattie was a lover of cats.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Gail Butts and her covenant, Zenora Roberts, and Darrell Roberts, 11 grandchildren; Quency Abdullah (Esam), Starlette Flakes (Byron), Marsha Moss, Marcee Moss, Chantallia Hernandez (Carlos), Shermayne Butts, Michael E. Butts, Jr., James Roberts, Constance Roberts, Nickolas Baker, and Lanora Roberts, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mattie is preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Broadus, Hugh Broadus, Jr., Alice Hardrick, Ruby Warren, Marie Bradley, and Mary Broadus, grandson; Omar Hugh Baker, great-grandson, Gabriel Hernandez, and her son-in-law; Stacey Stubbs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at New Damascus Baptist Church in Gray, GA. Address: 676 Damascus Church Rd, Gray, GA 31032. Burial will follow after the service.
