Mary Ann LoDuca, 83, passed away Sunday under the watchful eyes of her family... and after being combative and flirtatious with an attentive security guard. And possibly the neurologist. Blessed with good health throughout most of her life, Mary Ann suffered a brief illness which ultimately evidenced stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She took her last breath as the incredibly strong, beautiful, sassy rockstar that she was.
Mary Ann was born May 31, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, to her parents, Mac and Jimmy [Ralph and Ouida McLeod]. Her foundational K-12 years were spent in Catholic Schools. She had one sister, Patricia, ten years her junior. She was a competitive roller skater where she won multiple trophies, and a few hearts. She spent the majority of her working life caring for others - and there were a lot of double shifts. Mary Ann was also a world class shopper, devoted Mother, always loving G'ma (including any and all fur babies - no joke, we have substantial proof), football and awards show watcher, cookie hoarder, and tea connoisseur. She loved living near so many of her cherished friends at the Uff! She was never late to events involving family, friends or food, in fact often super early, super early.
If you were to ever spend longer than ten minutes with Mary Ann, you would know her family was her world. She is survived by her four daughters, Sherry [Tom] Lambrecht, Terri [Barry] Baxter, Mary Ann [Tony] Caterina, and Colleen Hyder, grandchildren, Nichole [Brian] Hill, Michael Lambrecht, Christopher Hover, Benjamin Hover, Stephinie [Dustin] Horning, Noalan Hyder, and JC Hyder, two great grandchildren, Caiden Horning, Corbin Horning, Jacob Quarles, Vinny Hover, and OliviaHover; sibling Patti [Gary] Burg, one niece, two nephews, one Abyssinian and soo many granddogs.
Prior to distribution of this notice, the following Heaven to Earth communication was interpreted:
"I'm not going to be able to make it to Christmas this year, crazy daughters, but I guarantee you all are on my mind. To be certain I have left you all for the big Target in the sky - and by that I do mean Super Target, 4th floor, I'm in Bedding. None of you have been good enough for memory foam this year, but I'll probably get it anyway. I'm very grateful I will get to skip the sore knees and long lines, but I'll miss the love and the cinnamon rolls. I bought you all bacon wrapped turkeys this year, but that didn't work out how I anticipated. I do hope you all know how much I love you, and although I often wanted to strangle you, you know there was nothing on this planet I had more pride in. I am very happy, because although I will miss my family, and especially my 7 wonderful grandchildren, I will get to spend these next holidays with my Mom and Dad, and Barry and my two other little ones, all of whom I've missed dearly, and until we all will be together again. Do not be sad, all of you my friends and loved ones who were so special to me, because my life was wonderfully rich and full due to all of you. Well, you and Luke Bryan."
