Lillian T. Gibbs McCord

Lillian T. Gibbs McCord, age 89, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Friday February 11, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  Lillian entered this life on October 12, 1932 in Woodlawn, TN, the daughter of the late William and Ruth Willis Gibbs.  Lillian was devoted to her family and was known to be kind hearted.  She also enjoyed playing cards and doing word searches.  In her early years, she was baptized in the Baptist Church.  She worked hard during her life taking care of her family as well as working as a waitress, and working at the Booster factory in Clarksville and at the Clarksville Days Inn.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Emmie Oliver (Bob), Hazel Evans, Danny McCord (Kathy), Cathy Abad, Kenneth McCord (April), Cheryl McCord (John),and Steve McCord, all of Clarksville and Susan Ashley of Jacksonville, FL.  She is also survived by a brother Glen Gibbs of Clarksville and a sister Mildred Green of Woodlawn.  Lillian is also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Ruth Gant and brothers Leonard Gibbs, Lonzo Gibbs, Lester Gibbs, and sisters Susan Freeman and Marion Duncan.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday February 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Gateway Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Collins officiating.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be at the funeral home for the hour prior to funeral services.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
