It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lana Fay McElwrath, who passed away on October 17, 2024, at the age of 73 at Baptist Hospital Pensacola, FL.
She was born June 23, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Bertie Parsons. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Bobby McElwrath, and a devoted mother to her children.
She is survived by her daughter Tina Soren (Marc); daughter Barbie Hemmingsen (Jack); son Robert McElwrath (Jamie); and daughter Robin McCaffrey (Coll), she had 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. Her family also included 6 sisters Barbara Foster; Marie Green; Mary LaFond; Nadene Goodall; Judy Parson and Linda Hampton, 5 brothers Jerry Wayne Parsons; Archie Parsons; Donald Parsons; Leonard Parsons and Karl Parsons.
Lana McElwrath was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality. She lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of many family gatherings.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Gateway Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Ted Denny will be officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.
Rest in peace, dear Mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
