Kawannah Deskins Belcher

Kawannah Allen Nell Deskins Belcher, age 93 of Dover, TN passed away on Sunday May 15, 2016 at Diversicare of Dover. She was born in the state of Washington on March 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Corbett Deskins and June Duty Kanzada Humphries.

Mrs. Belcher was a graduate of Radford University in Radford, VA and was a teacher in elementary schools in Michigan. During her life she had also been employed in the war plants during WWII, had been a real estate agent and had owned and operated the Carlisle Market in Carlisle, TN.

She is survived by a daughter Kim Futrell & husband Kenny of Dover; two sons James C. Belcher & wife Becki of Graham, WA; and Gary Belcher & wife Bonnie of Carlisle, TN. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Belcher who passed away in 2007 and sisters June Margaret Payne Stacy and Corbetta "Babe" Vernon Siders.

In keeping with Mrs. Belcher's wishes, she is to be cremated. There will be family memorial services conducted at a later date.
