Kathleen Upton Ellis

Kathleen Upton Ellis, age 66 passed away on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 in Clarksville, TN. She was born in Hopkinsville, KY on October 27th, 1951 to the late William and Essie Upton.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Austin; brothers, James Upton and Billy Upton; and three sisters, Maggie Lancaster, Nancy Browning, and Sue Foster.

Mrs. Ellis was devoted to her children and grandchildren; she was happiest with a baby on her lap. She loved to sing, travel and write.

She is survived by husband, Terry W. Ellis Sr; sons, William A. Helton (Tina) of Clarksville, Garrett L. Ellis of Clarksville, and Terry Ellis Jr. (Tammy) of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; daughters Sharon D. Helton (Todd Kingston), and Angie D. Gamble (David) of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; brother, Richard Upton (Karen) of Hopkinsville; and sisters, Penny Crook (Jerry) of California, Betty Hammons (Jim) of Florida, Carolyn Smith (Larry) of Clarksville, and Debra Kellogg (Jeff) of Cadiz, KY. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be on Friday, April 6th, 2018 at 12:00 PM, officiated by Jeff Kellogg. Interment to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
