Karen C. Vertrees

Karen C. Vertrees, age 65 of Cunningham, TN passed away on Sunday April 9th, 2017 at her residence. She was born April 1st, 1952 in Columbia, SC; the daughter of the late Richard Carlson and Hildred Ausbon Carlson.

Karen is a member of Gray's Chapel Church of the Nazarene, the Captain William Edmiston Chapter of the DAR, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She worked with her husband at their family business, Mobile Manor rental properties. Karen is survived by her husband Mark S. Vertrees; son Steven M. Vertrees (Rebekah) of Franklin; two daughters Sara Turnquist (Greg) of Clarksville and Rachel Bull (Ryan) of Cunningham; a sister Diane Riggsbee (Bynie) of Wake Forest, NC; and a brother James Carlson (Tobi) of Nolensville. She is blessed with 11 grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday April 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 12th, 2017 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. and again on Thursday from noon until the time of services.
