Joyce Peterson

Joyce L. Peterson, age 76 passed away on Monday, April 4th, 2016 at her residence in Clarksville. She was born on September 11th, 1939 to the late E.C. and Delma Denton Black. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil A. Peterson and brother, Jimmy Black.

She attended Excell Baptist Church and enjoyed travelling to Gatlinburg, collecting hummingbirds, and being with her beloved family.

She is survived by three sons, Randy Peterson, Gary Peterson (Mary), and Ricky Peterson (Sheila) all of Clarksville; two daughters, Rita Snyder of Clarksville and Tandy Logsdon (Martin) of Pleasant View, TN; three brothers, Bobby Black (Judy) Eddie and Terry Black, all of Clarksville; one sister, Shirley Hatfield (Joe) of Clarksville; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peterson will be held on Friday, April 8th at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home with Brother Robert Creasy of the Church of God of Prophecy officiating. Visitation with the family will begin on Thursday, April 7th from 3:00 pm. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
