John Weldon Mysinger Sr, age 84, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Born December 24, 1938 in Harrison, AR to Frank and Nancy (Collins) Mysinger.
John grew up in Green Forest, AR before joining the US Army and marrying Brenda Buckle where they were married for 49 years before her passing. He would often joke that the only reason he married Brenda was her birthday was the day after his on Christmas and she had curly hair. A retired 21-year Veteran of the US Army and a retired Clarksville City Transit bus driver, John Mysinger did not ever meet a stranger. He loved to tell jokes and make others laugh. He had a passion for playing bingo with his friends, was known to eat dinner at the same establishment everyday where he sat at the same table, and loved to wear plaid shirts with his Vietnam Veteran hat.
John is preceded in death by his parents; wife Brenda Jean Mysinger, sisters: baby Elizabeth Ann, Frankie Lee Knowles and Mary Lou Holloway, and grandson Brandon Michael Mysinger. He is survived by children John Steven Smith, John Weldon Mysinger Jr, James Wayne Mysinger, and Shirley Jean (Mysinger) Brown; grandchildren, Andrea Michelle (Mysinger) Childers, Desiree Hope (Mysinger) Johnson and great-grandchildren, Kaydan Lanee Childers, Alyssa Leanne Childers, Braylin Brown, and Paris Johnson.
Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M.
