John Heer

John Heer age 88 of Springfield, TN, passed away at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield on April 6, 2020. He was born March 26, 1932 in Hazelton, North Dakota, the son of the late Christ Heer Jr. and Martha Wittmer Heer. John served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He served as a paratrooper. Following his time in the military, he and his wife were the owners and operators of Clarksville Moving and Storage for over 25 years. He later was a driver for Kennedy Brothers. He was a hard worker all during his life. He is survived by a son Robert "Rob" Heer (Judy) of Clarksville; daughters Peggy Oglesby (Edwin) of Springfield; Debbie Newman (Jeff) of Erin, TN; and Linda Bracey of Clarksville. Also surviving are two step children and 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Leila Margaret Slate Heer and his brother Clarence Heer. Family memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
