Jerry Kevin Jones

Jerry Kevin Jones, age 53 of Clarksville passed away on Monday August 3, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born November 2, 1961 in Union, WV, the son of the late Bernard Jones and Claudette Flack Logan. Jerry enlisted in the Navy after high school graduation and served his country for 13 years. He served in Desert Storm and was once named sailor of the year. He moved to Clarksville in 1993 and worked in car sales for several years. He also served in the Army Reserves and later became a caregiver in home healthcare until his health no longer permitted him to work.

Jerry is a member of the American Legion and was a fan of UT and Tennessee Titans football. He was also a fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhart Jr. in particular. He was a patriot who was proud to have served his country.

He is survived by his girlfriend Sherry Newcomb of Clarksville; a son Nick Jones (Sara) of Clarksville; daughters Nichole Jones of Clarksville and Jessica Newcomb of Clarksville; a brother Ricky Jones of Virginia; sisters Pam Sordelett of Virginia; Robin O'Donnell of Texas; Tammy Runner of Virginia; grandchildren Paige Jones, Nick Jones Jr., Josh Jones and Nathan Wright. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Peaches Jones. Memorial services with military honors will be conducted at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
