Jerry "JJ" johnson

Jerry "JJ" Johnson Sr. age 66 of Clarksville passed away Sunday November 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 20, 1949 in Bamberg, SC, the son of the late Wesley Johnson and Rosa Conyers Johnson. JJ served his country for a total of 39 years, both in the military and as a civilian defense employee. He served in the army from 1967 until 1988, retiring as a staff sergeant. Following retirement, he worked for General Dynamics until his retirement in 2005.

JJ is survived by four sons, Jerome Bryant of Orangeburg, SC; Kai Becker of Hopkinsville, KY; Patrick Becker and wife Megan of Pleasant View, TN; and Jerry Johnson Jr. of Clarksville; one daughter Alexandra Becker of Hopkinsville, KY; sevenbrothers, Wesley Jr.; Buddy; Walter; Tony; Terry; Larry; and Charles Johnson and six sisters, Helen Stewart; Loretta Reed; Mamie Nimmons; Barbara Johnson; Dorothy Johnson; and Mary Jenkins; as well as eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friend and mother of the children, Marianne Johnson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Kenny, David, and Harold Johnson.
