Jerry Wayne Edwards

Jerry Wayne Edwards, age 71 of Clarksville, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare.

Jerry was born on June 16, 1950 in Clarksville, TN to the late Carney Wesley Edwards and Dorothy Eads Davidson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Betsy Catherine Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Houghtaling Edwards; sisters, Mary Byard, Paula Bradish; nephews, Dwight, Cory, James, Adam, Andrew; nieces, Pamela, Carrie, Sarah; great nephews, Dakota, Will, Camden, Wyatt, Pruitt; great nieces, Courtney, Brittany, Hope; great-great nephew, Henry and great- great nieces, Briella and Holly.

Jerry was a Marine Corps and Vietnam Veteran. He loved the outdoors, fishing and mowing. He loved playing cards, and could always be found playing a round or two with his friends. He was a loving Husband, Brother and Uncle. Jerry will be forever loved and greatly missed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Gateway Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Joel Nulty officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Byard, James Houghtaling, Will Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Andrew Decker and Adam Decker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry’s special friends, Doc Halliday, Elmer Richardson, Jerry Bowers, David Rushing and Ricky Young.
