Jerome Lee (Doc) Holliday passed away October 28, 2015 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY following an acute health event associated with a long term health condition. He was 72 years old and passed peacefully while being visited by close family friends.
Jerome Lee Holliday was born on October 13, 1943 to John Samuel Holliday and Martha Viola (Ruth) Holliday. He was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and lived there until moving to Huntington Park, California in 1958. He returned to Williamsport in 1964 and later settled in Elkton, Kentucky around 1981. Jerry (Doc) was the eldest of four children. He had two brothers, Curtis Lynn Holliday and Keith La Monte Holliday (deceased in 2008) and one sister, Joy Faye (Holliday) Graves. Jerry (Doc) Holliday was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, an outdoorsman, and he loved people. He will be remembered in the community for his outgoing personality and his generosity toward others.
Jerry (Doc) Holliday was preceded in death by his parents: John Samuel Holliday and Martha Viola (Ruth) Holliday; his brother Keith La Monte Holliday; and his son Jerome Lee Holliday Jr.
Jerry (Doc) Holliday is survived by his children Jon Lamont Holliday, Randy Lamar Holliday, Heather Hartzel, and Cory Holliday; his grandchildren; La Mar Lee Holliday, Randy Lamar Holliday II, Steven Daniel Cleary, Julia Catherine Holliday, Amelia Grace Holliday, Hunter Ryan Hartzel, Madeline Grace Hartzel, and Samuel Holt Holliday; great grandchildren; Marie Lyndsey Holliday, Audrey Lynnette Holliday, Daniel La Mar Holliday, and William Legind Holliday; and his nieces, Andrea (Graves) Taylor and Sandra (Graves) Anderson.
The family would especially like to thank the exceptional staff and nursing professionals at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, as well as the attending physicians and health care professionals who have helped Jerry (Doc) and the family and friends through this challenging life event. The family is also very grateful to the friends of Jerry (Doc) Holliday who meant so much to him and have been extremely compassionate and helpful throughout this process.
At the request of the deceased there will be no formal memorial services for Jerome Lee Holliday. The family encourages friends and family to remember him fondly and commemorate as they see fit.
