Janie Marcille Womack

Janie Marcille Womack age 89 of Cunningham, TN, passed away on Monday January 18, 2021 at her residence.  She was born June 19, 1931 in Emerson, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Freddie Willis Dodson and Inez Yates Dodson.  Janie is a graduate of Emerson High School and lived her early years in Emerson and Magnolia, AR.  She worked for many years as an office manager with Sealy Mattress Company in California.  She attended the River Church in Clarksville, TN.  Janie’s family meant everything to her.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She left her family with many wonderful life lessons.  She loved bluegrass music and played rhythm guitar with bluegrass bands while living in California.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dub Womack who passed in 1991.  Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Womack Conroy of California; her brother Joe Dotson (Beverly) of Birmingham, AL; her sisters Annette Mooney of Magnolia, AR; and Demaurice Foster of McNeil, AR.  Also surviving are two grandchildren Danielle Warren (Chad) of Cunningham, TN; and Vance Conroy (Adrena) of Commerce, CA; as well as four great grandchildren Randall Warren, Cetera Warren, Mackenzie Warren, and Liam Conroy.  A family gathering is being planned at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
