James Raymond Vargas

James Raymond Vargas, age 76, passed away peacefully in his home, Monday, February 27th,2017. He was the husband of Karen Anne Vargas (love of his life and soul mate) who passed away on June 23, 2011. He was born November 7, 1940 in Panama, son of the late Raymond and Emma Vargas. James was a researcher (1964-1975) at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and an independent insurance broker (1975-2005). James was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Maureen Vargas Barefield; Grandsons, Christian and Camryn Barefield; step-son Michael David Coulombe; Wife, Tina Coulombe; Grandchildren, Nikki, Dartanya, and Chance Coulombe; Great-granddaughter, Anastasia Jean Marie; step-daughter Lisa Coulombe; Grandchildren, Jennifer Collins (deceased), Earl and Shawn Buchler, and Jessica Coulombe; Great-grandchildren, Zeekin and Adora; "honorary" niece, Jennifer Marie Luckett.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home, 335 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN 37040. Phone 931-919-2600. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, March 3rd, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gateway Funeral Home.
