Hugh Allen Spears

Hugh Allen Spears, age 78 of Cedar Hill, TN passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN. Hugh Allen was born on August 4, 1942 in Sumner County, TN to the late Tandy and Lucille Anderson Spears. Hugh Allen enjoyed camping, fishing and joy riding. He was saved at an early age and attended church regularly. Hugh was employed with CO OP for 38 years as the Parts Manager, where he assembled equipment. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, William Allen Spears (Cathy) of Hartsville, TN and Naurice Ray Brown (Carolyn) of Adams, TN; daughter, Rita Faye Longey (Glenn) of Pleasant View, TN; brothers, W.T. Spears of Bethpage, TN, Charlie Spears (Sherry) of Franklin, KY and Frankie Spears (Phyllis) of Bethpage, TN; sister, Barbara Faye Harmon (Mike) of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Phillip Brown (Christina), Josh Spears (Crystal), Alicia Spears, Mikey Boatman, Kayla Miller (Ross), Monica Longey and Erik Longey; and great grandchildren, Nicholas Brown, Steven Brown, John Dale Miller, Zoie Sadger, Aya Mullins, Dale Spears, Faye Lee Mitchell, Zephie Boatman and Jaiden Boatman. Hugh is also survived by his loving cat of 18 years, Suzie.

Along with his parents, Hugh is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Sarah Spears; daughter, Judy Brown; brothers, Walter “Buck” Spears, Paul “Buddy” Spears, Jerry Donald Spears and Michael Spears; sisters, Elizabeth “Tookum” Sadler and Margie Nell Spears; grandchildren, Corey John Longey, Justin Lee Spears, James Brown and Jamie Mantlo. Hugh is also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Peggy Smith.

Visitation for Hugh Allen Spears will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel at 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 1:00 P.M on Wednesday, June 2 2021. Officiating will be Bro. W.T. Spears and Bro. Ron Emery. Interment will follow immediately after service at Resthaven.
