Harold F. Stewart, loving Husband, Father, and Papa, passed away on April 8th, 2024 at Tennova Hospital after a brave fight with Lymphoma.
Harold was born on January 30, 1948, to Harold and Robbie (Crowe) Stewart. He was the oldest of 6 siblings; brothers: Orville Stewart (Bobby), Garry Stewart (Kathrine), Rick Stewart (Marylin), Dennis Stewart (Charlene), and one sister, Sharon Nachman.
Harold graduated from Nicholas Blackmon High School and attended Austin Peay State University. Harold’s family gave him a childhood full of fun and learning the value of service to others, joy of life, and family.
Harold enlisted in the Army in 1967. He was stationed at Ft. Campbell KY, Ft Benney GA, Vietnam, Ft Belvoir VA, Ft. Sill OK, Bamberg Germany, White Sand Missile Range NM, Grafenwohr Germany, and finished his career with Desert Storm and a tour of Ft. Campbell, KY.
In 1968, on a blind date set up by a friend, Harold was introduced to the love of his life, Cathy Routzahn. This lady would become his “Cat”. She never left his side and she followed him to each side of the world, and gave him three sons: Mike Stewart (Shelia), Sean Stewart (Regina), and Jim Stewart (Andrea). Harold's next love besides Cathy and his sons were his grandbabies: Max, Flanery, and Emma. He was a very proud Papa.
In 2003, Harold & Cathy found their piece of heaven in the community of Palmyra, TN. After years of serving his country he was finally able to enjoy his neighbors and a peaceful country life. Harold's favorite song was A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and our lives as his family were wonderful for knowing and loving Harold Stewart.
A private service will be held per Harold's wishes at a later date.
