Gregory L. "Greg" Williams

Gregory L. "Greg" Williams age 62 of Clarksville passed away at his residence on Thursday February 4, 2016. He was born October 31, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Pearl Lorraine Moss Williams of Mooreland, IN and the late Harold Williams. Greg served his country for over 25 years in the US Army. He served in Vietnam and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Following retirement from the military, he was the general manager of Terry Harris Motor Company for several years until his health no longer permitted him to work. Greg is a member of the AMVETS in Sebring, FL and a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his mother, Greg is survived by his wife Glenda D. Kirkland Williams of Clarksville; 3 daughters, Shelly Bender of Clarksville; Kelly Friedmann and husband Mike of Clarksville; and Amy Durner and husband Tommy of Savannah, GA; brothers Bruce Williams of Stuarts Draft, VA; Rick Williams of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Sherry Bender of Shelbyville, TN; Brooke Maggard of Summerville, SC; and Dawn Bennett of New Castle, IN. Greg is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Devyn, Brookelynn, Jenna, Jake, Brenna, Thomas, Cheyenne, Taylar, and Jaimie, as well as a great grandchild, Grayson. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lance Williams and Douglas Williams. Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday February 7, 2016 at the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be Greg's brother Major Bruce Williams. There will be a time of visitation for one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
