Frank Vernon Haire Jr. age 88 of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at the Veteran Administration Hospital in Nashville. Gateway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 9:15 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with military honors. Mr. Haire was born April 12, 1928 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Frank V. Haire Sr. and the late Irene Martin Haire. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Martha Jane Haire; daughter Patricia Ann Ellis; and son Thomas William Ellis. He was one of four brothers who served their country during war time and who preceded him in death; William Haire (KIA); Charles Haire; and James P. Haire. Mr. Haire was a retired architect and structural engineer. He was a Baptist, and a U.S. Army infantry veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member at large of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Commanders Club DAV, National Society of Professional Engineers, and a distinguished 50 year member of the NRA. Mr. Haire was proud of the many buildings and residences he designed throughout the southern USA, Frankfort Germany, London England, Tokyo Japan, and also on the US Virgin Islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix. Frank retired to Clarksville to be near his daughter Theresa. Mr. Haire attended the University of Louisville and the Speed Scientific School of Engineering. He is survived by his daughter Theresa (Richard) Wilson, grandsons Richard (Nikki) Dyche, Michael (Ruth) Dyche, Dale Coates, and Michael Coates and 14 great grandchildren.
