Eva Girlene Meers

Eva Girlene Meers, age 87, of Clarksville, TN  passed away on September 23, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 26, 1937, in Dover, TN to the late Lewis Atkins and Verniece Lewis.

Throughout her life, Eva embraced her passions with an infectious spirit, whether it was through her love of shopping, her nurturing garden, or the joyous gatherings she hosted for family and friends. Eva was a woman who made every moment special for those around her. Her daughters, She poured her heart into her family, instilling in them the values that guided her own life. Every meal she lovingly prepared was not just food, but an expression of her affection—a way to create memories filled with joy and laughter.She thrived in the presence of her friends and family, surrounding herself with those she held dear. Eva’s home was a haven for gatherings, where laughter echoed and bonds were deepened through shared moments of joy.

Eva Girlene Meers will be deeply missed, but she will remain in our hearts as a beacon of love, care, and cherished family traditions, ensuring that her spirit will live on in those she touched.

Eva is survived by her beloved two daughter, Veevee (Robert) Durham, Jeannine (Joe) Lehman, niece, Angie (Glenn) Moody, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Meers; parents, Lewis Atkins and Verniece Lewis, and her siblings; Bill Atkins, Elton Atkins, Louis Butts, George Atkins, Kelley Atkins and Ellen Rittenberry.

A funeral service will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, TN.
