Esther Gonzalez Santiago

July 25, 1929 - April 7, 2022

Esther was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Emilio Gonzalez Morales and Felicita Rodriguez Gonzalez. Esther passed away in Miami, FL at her daughter's home surrounded by love and admiration for her love for life and perseverance after a major heart attack.

She was a very devoted wife to Carlos who preceded her in death, September of 2020. She loved her children and enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren while in Miami. 

She loved reading the Bible and other biblical materials and spent her mornings and evenings praying. She enjoyed drinking coffee, watching the news and always abreast of any and every event occurring in the world and most important the weather. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and siblings, Carmen Elsa, Eliseo, Ruben, David, Isabel and Jose.

She is survived by her three sons, Waldeck "Walter" Santiago ( Linny) of St. Cloud, FL, Carlos J. Santiago Jr. of Miami, FL, and Manuel Felipe Santiago (Michelle) of Chattanooga, TN; two daughters, Brenda Elsa Ramirez (Julio) of Miami, FL and Carmen Gonzalez (Luis) of Clarksville, TN; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Father Julian Ibemere will be officiating. Interment will follow on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West.
