Gone But Not Forgotten!

Eric Lafayette Thomas, 58, Husband, Father, and dear friend to many, transitioned peacefully on December 12, 2021.
Eric was born March 18th, 1963  in Unadilla GA. to the late Johnnie Lee and Minnie Lee Thomas as the oldest sibling of brothers; Tchaikovsky"Bot" (Sonya) Thomas, Cedric Thomas and sisters; Avis (David) Williams and Latoshia (Lesley) Wright (Preceded in death).

Eric Graduated from Unadilla High School, then entered the United States Army in 1981 and retired in 1992 in which he received many awards, certifications and recognitions. He then begun his Owner Operated Trucking career until his passing.

Eric married his beloved wife of 40 years, Gracie Mae Thomas on March 6, 1984. He leaves his siblings, wife, children, to cherish his memories. 6 children; James (Melanie) McCullen, Tommie Curtis Pridgen (Preceded in Death), Bryant (Monica) Pridgen, Wilton (Kristy) Pridgen, Willie (Yolanda) Pridgen and his baby girl LaTasha ShaRee Pridgen. Eric also had 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren near and far and a host of nieces and nephews.

Eric loved praising the Lord and spending time with his family, laughing and always wearing a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person. Eric was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He has  always been dedicated to his family.

A visitation will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. The funeral service will be on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Floyd Brazil will be officiating. Burial is to follow at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West.
