Edwin Morris Lewis

Edwin Morris Lewis, age 87, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Monday March 14, 2022 at his residence in Clarksville.  He was born January 30, 1935 in Cob Creek, TN, the son of the late Oscar Houston Lewis and Mattie Marie Atkins Lewis.  Edwin was the owner and operator of JB Cook Auto Parts in Clarksville for many years.  He grew up in the Methodist Church and is a member of Parklane Nazarene Church. Edwin served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed playing golf and he rode dirt bikes until he was in his 80’s.  He is survived by his wife Denell Lewis of Clarksville; daughters Lisa Arnold (Tommy) of Clarksville and Donna Thompson (Steve) of Clarksville; step daughters Penny Brown of Richmond, IN, and LaDonna Wade (Jimmy) of Calhoun, KY.  He is also survived by a brother Ted Lewis (Glenda) of Clarksville.  Edwin is blessed with five grandchildren, Brittney, Carrie, Amy, Nathan, and Ethan as well as nine great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Lala Bryant, Janelle Jenkins, and Ora Hargrove.  Graveside funeral services with military honors for Edwin will be conducted on Thursday March 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Indian Mound, TN.  Brother Gary Herndon will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ron Sleigh, Steve Thompson, Jimmy Wade, Jason Huber, Ethan Wade, and Landon Tankersley.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Arnold, Robin Sleigh, Nathan Wade, David Bryant, Todd Lewis, and Terry Griffy.
