Douglas Craig Smallwood
We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Douglas Craig Smallwood age 63, on July 28th, 2016 in Indian Mound, TN. He was born on March 2nd, 1953 in Leavenworth,KS to the late Charles and Helen Wadle Smallwood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Larry and Bruce Smallwood, and sister Carol Jean Johnson.
Mr. Smallwood served his country in the United States Army from which he retired as a helicopter medic. He also taught literacy classes to people to prepare them to join the military and to succeed in life.
He is survived by his son, Travis Smallwood of Phoenixville, PA; second mother, Mary Smallwood Hilterman; brothers, Chuck Smallwood(Kathy) of Lakeland, TN,Kevin Smallwood of New Castle, IN, Mark Lacy (Missy) of Muncie, IN, Dan Smallwood of Columbus, OH and Matt Smallwood of Rinebeck, New York; sister Linda Barlow of Woodbridge, VA; sister in law Debbie Smallwood Morgan of Midland, VA; godchild Chelsea Langston McCollum and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 9:00 a.m. at St.Francis of Assissi Church in Dover, TN.
