Donald Calvin Heath, age 76, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville. Don was born in St Johnsbury, VT, the son of the late Willard Brandon Heath and Hazel Nellie (Brown) Heath Rivers. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1980. He served in Vietnam and attained the rank of Captain. During his time in the Army, he was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Don also earned a Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Masters Degree in Business from Long Island University. He is a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was known as a hard worker throughout his life and he enjoyed weightlifting. For almost 40 years, Don was a co-owner of Schrecker Moving and Storage Company in Clarksville. He loved his work and continued to work every day. He is survived by his wife Donna (O'Malley) Heath of Clarksville; a son Brandon Heath (Elisabeth) of San Diego, CA; brothers Jim Heath (Barb) of The Villages, FL; and David Rivers of Raleigh, NC as well as a sister-in-law, Patsy Rivers, of Raleigh, NC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Harold Heath, Robert Rivers, and Tom Rivers. Don was an animal lover and is also survived by his beloved dog, Boo. Memorial services with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry A. Peters officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church on Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the Clarksville Humane Society.
