Diane May Lessing

Diane May Lessing, 86, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Tennova Healthcare. She was born February 17, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Lyndell H. Foster and Helen Marble Foster.

Diane received her Bachelor of Art degree in Sociology from Gallaudet College; the world's only liberal arts college for the deaf. Her diploma was personally signed by President Richard M. Nixon. She also received her MBA from Butler University and another MBA from California State University. Diane taught at California State University Northridge & Deaf Foreigners Occupational Center. She also served in leadership at the Deaf Lutherans of California Organization.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Lessing; step-daughter, Melody Lessing; nephews, Rick (Karen) Thompson and David (Janice) Thompson; niece, Traci Wilson, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her sister, Lynda Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation for the hour prior. Burial will take place at Concordia Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 A.M EST.
