Clifton Lee Potier Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee - The family and friends of Clifton, age 55, are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on August 12, 2023, from complications of Multiple Sclerosis, at his home in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was born September 19, 1967 in Reserve, Louisiana and married Paula Brooks, the mother of his 3 children. They later divorced.
 
Clifton served in the United States Marine Corps-11 from 1987-1995 and achieved sergeant status.  Clifton was a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm where he earned several medals, including Rifle Expert badge (3), National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Achievement Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and Meritorious Mast.  His military education was for equipment Operating.       
                 
He trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  Clifton enjoyed reading, talking about Jesus, listening to music, and exercising. He will be greatly missed. Clifton is survived by his sister Cynthia Potier; one son, Alex Potier of Morgan City, LA; two daughters, Amy Sylve of Surprise, AZ, Sara Potier of Denham Springs, LA. He had 7 grandchildren: Audriena Sylve, Maria Garay, Talia Garay, Zackary Potier, Zoey Potier, Samantha Golmon, and Isaac Golmon Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Lee Potier Sr, Delores Benoit Potier Trisler.
 
A memorial service to honor Clifton’s life will be held at the Gueydan Cemetery, in Gueydan, LA at a later date.
