Bobby Charles McElwrath

Bobby Charles McElwrath age 64 of Bumpus Mills, TN; formerly of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday December 23, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born February 16, 1951 in Kennett, MO, the son of the late Robert and Maggie McElwrath.

Bobby was employed as a machine operator at Thun Inc. from 1979 until his retirement due to his health in 2002. He was baptized in the Baptist Church. He is a member and past master of Palmyra Masonic Lodge # 747. In his free time he enjoyed storytelling, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Bobby is survived by his wife Lana Fay Parsons McElwrath; a son Robert Charles McElwrath & wife Jamie of Lebanon, OH; daughters Michelle Robin "Charlie" McCaffery & husband Coll of Pensacola, FL; Tina Soren & husband Marc of Pensacola, Fl; and Barbie Harrison & husband Keith of Clarksville. He is also survived by sisters Wilma & Rufus Johnson of Crossville, TN; Debbie & Kenny Sample of Kennett, MO; Connie Candeloro of Pensacola, FL; and Vickey James of Wardell, MO. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren including "Scooter" who Bobby assisted in raising, as well as one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son Bobby Charles McElwrath and a brother Jerry McElwrath.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday December 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Gateway Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Friends may visit on Saturday from 2-6 P.M. at the funeral home. At the conclusion of the visitation time there will be a Masonic memorial service conducted at 6:00 P.M. Saturday. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made for the benefit of the family.
