Bobbie Jean Motes

Bobbie Jean Motes, age 84 passed away on Monday, September 11th, 2017, at her residence in Clarksville. She was born on April 19th, 1933 to the late William Lee and Maude Hoard King in Clinton, SC. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Motes; grandchildren James Ronnie Hoard, Jr. and Terry Allen Motes; brothers James C. King, Daniel King, Charles King , Frank Ray King, William Lee King, and Earl King; sisters Willie Mae Yarborough, Sybil Motjoy, and Mary Deitz.

She is survived by two sons, William Motes of Clarksville; Bobby Motes of Monroe, NC; two daughters, Barbara Walker of Gastonia, NC, Brenda Hoard of Clarksville; brother Wallace King of Greenville, SC; sister Edith Owens of Ninety Six, SC; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15th at 2:00 p.m. from the Pleasant View Baptist Church on Cumberland Heights Road in Clarksville. Interment to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at the church from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
