Billy Ray Wellington Sr.

Billy Ray Wellington Sr. age 62 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday June 12, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.  He was born March 16, 1959 in Brownsville, TN, the son of the late Eddie Louis Wellington and Mary Nell Jones Green.  Billy served his country in the US Army for 12 years.  Following his time in the military, he worked for 20 years with Maytag and currently was working in maintenance at the In Town Suites in Clarksville.  He was a fan of NASCAR, the St; Louis Cardinals, the Packers and Broncos and loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed cooking out with his family.  Survivors include his wife Tammy Cantrell Wellington; sons Markist Wellington, Billy Wellington Jr., Sean Wellington, Christian Wellington, daughters Shaleetha Wellington and Jaleesa Wellington.  He is also survived by a brother Danny Lee Wellington, sisters Juanita Wellington and Glenda Ann Clark.  Billy is also blessed with six grandchildren.  There are no public funeral services planned at this time.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
