Basil Dempsey Lunt

Basil Dempsey Lunt, age 87 of Clarksville, passed away at his home on Saturday September 3rd 2016. He was born May 18, 1929 in Frenchboro, Maine, the son of the late Thomas Lunt and Helen Dalzelle Lunt. Basil served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked during his life as a lobster fisherman and an auto mechanic, spending most of his life in Maine until coming to Clarksville in 2008. While in Maine, he attended the Apostolic Church. He was devoted to his family and work.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lorraine C. Berry Lunt. He is also survived by a son Thomas Nason of Southwest Harbor, ME; daughters Margaret Gray of Seal Cove, ME, Rose Marie Gray of Seal Cove, ME, Patricia Field of Clarksville and Louise Chase of Clarksville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
