Barbara Lynn Johnson

Barbara Lynn Johnson, daughter of the late Carr and Mary Johnson was born September 16, 1967, departed this life on October 31, 2020.

Known as "Puddin", she was a native of Guthrie, KY and graduate of Todd County Central High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Russellville, KY where she resided for 25 years before moving to Springfield, TN to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. After several years in Springfield, she decided to join her brother in Silver Spring, Maryland. Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of several church assemblies while residing in Tennessee and Kentucky (Lester's Chapel, Guildfield Baptist Church, St Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and Banks Street AME). Upon moving to Maryland, she become a member of God's Living Word Greater Apostolic Temple where Bishop (Elect) Leslie L. Gales is Pastor.

Upon moving to Maryland, Barbara went back to school and was licensed by the State of Maryland as a Registered Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. She loved her career and loved to make other people happy. She always said, "treat people like you want to be treated".

One of Barbara's favorite past times was cooking. She especially loved to bake cakes for members of her church family and would smile from ear-to-ear when folks told her how good her cakes tasted. Her love for baking was as strong as her love for the medical profession and the proof was in "puddin". .

Barbara has the following siblings in birth order: Carr Johnson III (Deborah), Evelyn Johnson Scott, Stella Ransom (Palmer), Gay Johnson-Huffman (David), Faye Kilgore (deceased), Joyce Bradley, and Maurice Johnson (Kimberly). She leaves behind two special aunts, Linda Kilgore and Thelma Kilgore both of Clarksville TN and one very special uncle Lewis Kilgore of Clarksville TN along with a very special cousin (Johnnie Mae Mosley), nephew (Noah Johnson), and some very special friends who have loved her unconditionallyArthur Harris, Linzell Miller, Carla Toliver, Donita Smith and Teresa Robey along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday November 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday November 8, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
