Arthur Robert Slate

Arthur Robert Slate, age 81, of Goodlettsville, TN passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. He was born on November 17, 1941, in Clarksville, TN to the late Arthur and Edna Grace Mitchell Slate. Arthur enjoyed selling antiques. He was also a huge fan of Tennessee sports. Arthur was a devout Christian who always shared his faith and love for Christ with anyone he came into contact with.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Sophie French; and grandchildren, Lora (Michael) Bentley, Janet (Darcy) Mantlo, Kimberly Bowen, Joshua Slate, Chase French, Lauren French, and Ellen French. In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Slate; children, David Slate, Michael Slate, and Theresa Slate; and siblings, James Lee Slate, Edna Faye Doyle, and Anne Slate.

Public visitation will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.
