On Sunday, January 2, 2022 Denise’s spirit departed this earth to join the Heavenly Father.
Born August 26,1960 to the late Otis Douglas Holmes and Mary Nell Holmes-Lyle. Together with her siblings she grew up in a loving and Christian home. Her youth was filled with an abundance of family, friends, and good times.
Raised in a Christian home she professed her love for Christ and was baptized at an early age and immediately began her spiritual journey as a disciple of Christ. Denise served her home church admirably as member of the Usher Board until her illness no longer allowed her to do so.
Denise is a graduate of Clarksville High School, class of 1978. Denise understood the value of hard work and was employed at the International Labeling Plant until her retirement.
Most who know her would describe her as funny, honest, patient, humble, soft spoken, patient and humble. She will be most remembered for the love she had for her family, and friends. She was most proud of her time as a Girl Scout and cooking meals for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Michael (Bretta) Holmes, Jacksonville, FL, Vincent Lyle Sr., and Manfred (Sylvia) Lyle-Clarksville, TN and her nephews Vincent Lyle, Paducah Kentucky, and baby Lyle of Clarksville, TN, her paternal uncle, Floyd (Opal) Holmes-Pensacola, FL and paternal aunt, Savannah Holmes-Cunningham, TN; maternal uncles, Aaron S. Trotter Jr. (Larcenia)-Clarksville, TN, Joe (Elsie) Trotter-Nashville, TN , and Ed L. Trotter-Clarksville, TN and maternal aunts, Roberta (Lavell) Ford- Harker Heights Texas; and Barbara (Don) Pardue-Indianapolis, Indiana. There are numerous cousins and friends who will reflect on the love, care, and compassion she showed each of them.
Denise will be missed, but never forgotten.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future
