Allen Decatur Thompson

Allen Decatur Thompson, age 43, of Clarksville, TN, passed away at his home on Saturday October 16, 2021.  He was born January 26, 1978 in Ishpeming, MI, the son of John Thompson and Nancy Johnson Thompson, both of Clarksville.  Allen has worked for many years as a floor covering technician.  He was known as a craftsman who took pride in his work.  He was also known as a bargain hunter who enjoyed finding good deals at yard sales and estate sales.  He loved the outdoors, hunting for ginseng and mushrooms.  He loved many varieties of music and was a self taught guitar player.  He enjoyed helping others and was known for his generosity.  Survivors include his parents, John and Nancy Thompson of Clarksville; and his son Davis Thompson of Clarksville.  Also surviving is his brother John Thompson II (Carla) of Big Rock, TN and his sisters Angie Thompson of Clarksville and Tommi Jo French of Clarksville.  Allen is preceded in death by his sisters Lori and Robin Thompson.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Gateway Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
