Alice J. Carpenter

Alice J. Carpenter, age 80 of Clarksville passed away at her residence on Saturday May 14, 2016. She was born August 23, 1935 in Warren, Michigan, the daughter of the late Alidor Wancket and Valerie Verougstraete Wancket.

Alice was a homemaker and she came to live in Clarksville in 1966. She enjoyed going out to eat, working puzzles and was a fan of traditional country music.

She is survived by two daughters Debra Hayworth & husband Carroll Andrew of Mountain City, TN; and Brenda Dixon & husband Jerry of Cedar Hill, TN; a brother Marcel Wancket of Michigan; four grandchildren Charles Dixon, Daniel Dixon, Jesse Brooks, and Cora Grace Hayworth, as well as three great-grandchildren Emma Dixon; Cash Brooks; and Hunter Brooks. She is preceded in death by her husband William F. "Bill" Carpenter who passed away on May 10, 1995. She is also preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Willie, and Omer Wancket and two grandchildren Brandon Dixon and Jennifer Dixon.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Indian Mound.
