Alberta Rogers, born January 12, 1935, in Clarksville, Tennessee was the daughter of the late Sallie B. Bourne and Lawrence Powers.
She received her early education from Cobb Elementary School and graduated from Historic Burt High School. She later attended Cosmetology School where she received her Beautician License. She retired as an Army Air Force Exchange Food Service Manager, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Alberta was united in Holy matrimony to the late Thomas J. Rogers on November 10, 1967 (Fifty Years).
She was baptized early in life and confessed her belief in God. She was a member of the Poston Street Church of God, Sanctified, where she played an active role as Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, Youth Leader, Community Outreach and Mother of the Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above; sisters, Gloria Traughber, Albertine Mc Coin, and Folia Reed; brothers, Delano Bourne, Deorginary Powers, and Louis Powers.
With loving memories to cherish forever, Alberta leaves a devoted family. Her Sister Karen Trotter; Sons/Daughters, Sonya (Brandy), Tony (Marie), Michael (Pixie), Stevie (Patrica), Brenda, Sallie, Mary, Thomas (Jennifer), and Franklin; uncle, John Barton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; to include a host of nieces and nephews; two friends of over eighty years Sadie Hines and Francis Worthy. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
